Growing Instructions
Starting your seeds
You can start oregano seeds indoors using a heat mat to encourage germination. Once the seedlings sprout and grow a few sets of leaves, move them outdoors. Keep the soil moist and provide 6–8 hours of sunlight daily. When direct sowing oregano seeds, plant them about 1/4 inch deep with a light cover of soil in well-drained soil. Space them 12 inches apart to allow for healthy growth and spreading.
Harvesting your seeds
To harvest oregano, wait until the plant is at least 4 to 6 inches tall for the best flavor. Use scissors or pruning shears to cut the stems, leaving a few inches above the soil to encourage regrowth. Harvest the leaves in the morning when the oils are most concentrated for optimal flavor.
