Growing Instructions

Starting your seeds

You can start Arugula seeds indoors using a heat mat to encourage germination. Once the seedlings sprout and grow a few sets of leaves, move them outdoors. Keep the soil moist and provide 4–6 hours of sunlight daily. When direct sowing Arugula seeds, plant them about 1/4 inch deep in well-drained soil, spacing them 2–4 inches apart in rows 12–18 inches apart to give them room to grow.

Harvesting your seeds

To harvest arugula cut the outer leaves with scissors or shears, leaving the inner leaves to continue growing. Alternatively, you can harvest the entire plant when it reaches about 6 inches tall. Harvest young leaves for a milder flavor, or wait for larger leaves for a more peppery taste. Regular harvesting encourages continuous growth.
